Welcome to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE (pronounced: EYE-Triple-E) is a non-profit technical professional association with more than 350,000 individual members in 150 countries. It is the leading authority in technical areas including but not limited to computer engineering, biomedical technology, telecommunications, electric power, aerospace, and consumer electronics.

The IEEE dates back to 1884. And since then, it has advanced the theory and application of electrotechnology and related sciences, it has impulsed technological innovation, and it has provided support for its members through a wide variety of programs and services.

• Produces 30 percent of the world's published literature in electrical engineering, computers, and control technology,
• Holds more than 300 major conferences annually,
• Has more than 800 active standards with 700 more under development, and
• The list goes on...

Among IEEE's benefits are: Member networking and information sharing, educational opportunities, special cost-saving nd value-added benefits for members only, but most important the IEEE offers opportunities for volunteering, leadership and participation in a variety of IEEE activities, not to mention prestigious awards and recognition of technical, professional, and academic achievements.

The IEEE Student chapter at Cal State Fresno helps promote the engineering process of creating, developing, sharing, and application of knowledge in the Electrical and Computer Engineering fields.

This is accomplished through various technical and academic activities including but not limited to lectures, projects, field trips, conferences, and many other valuable resources. All of which end up being excellent opportunities for networking and the development of leadership skills. But most important CSUF IEEE is an excellent opportunity for students to meet new people, make new friends and just simply have fun.
